Featured Project

project-cover From the Caspian to Mediterranean: Environmental Change and Human Response during the Quaternary. This project is determining the influence of environmental change on the development of humankind in the Caspian-Black Sea-Mediterranean Corridor area, which comprises the Eurasian intercontinental basins of the Caspian, Black, Marmara, Aegean, and Mediterranean seas and coastal areas. These basins were sequentially connected and disconnected during the Quaternary period. The history of geological development of these basins determined the environmental and hydrological regimes of the area, and influenced biological populations, including humans, who populated the coastal zones.
